UNICEF Next Generation (NextGen) is a group of young leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators who commit their resources, resolve and enthusiasm toward supporting UNICEF’s life-saving work.
NextGen members mobilize their networks and inspire their generation to take action on behalf of the world’s most vulnerable children.
NextGen supports UNICEF Thailand to raise awareness about children’s issues. Members will activate their peers to raise funds and find their philanthropic path along the way. They become activists on behalf of children’s rights, while simultaneously educating the world’s current leaders, emerging leaders, and influencers about humanitarian issues and how they can work to facilitate change.
Here are a few ways your contribution will help support children affected by COVID-19 in Thailand:
- Deliver more than 100,000 items of hygiene supplies including soaps, hand sanitizers, alcohol sprays, disinfectants and face masks to protect children and families as well as community workers and volunteers against COVID-19.
- Develop guidelines for field hospitals hosting young children without their parents and families with children, to ensure that child protection and child safeguarding measures are observed.
- Develop guidelines with the WHO for the Government of Thailand on preventing family separation in case of a child’s or parent’s infection so that young children can be under their family’s care as much as possible, rather than in an institution or field hospital by themselves.
- Provide 3,500 Magic Box sets containing books, toys and learning materials as well as parental guidelines to help keep young children engaged in learning activities at home to Thai and migrant communities.
- Set up a hotline to provide critical information to the community, such as quarantine recommendations, how to get tested for COVID-19, what to do if a person or their family member is infected and which groups are at risk of infection.
