Flood emergency
In northern Thailand, heavy rains and flooding have severely affected nearly 64,000 children, with some schools reported to be completely destroyed
Nearly 6 million children have been affected as floods and landslides devastate Southeast Asia in the wake of Typhoon Yagi. Children are at risk of being cut off from education, clean water, and essential services as floods and landslides damage homes and infrastructure.
The devastating floods in southern Thailand have disrupted the lives of countless children and families, affecting over 1.5 million people, including 277,842 children. Tragically, 22 people have died.
UNICEF has delivered baby kits—including diapers and blankets—and hygiene kits with essentials like soap, toothpaste, and mosquito repellent, are on their way to support and ensure that affected children and families have access to essential supplies during this critical time.

UNICEF Thailand is providing the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) with hygiene kits, baby kits and Magic Bags containing educational and recreational materials, to supply the worst affected areas of Chiang Rai province.
Each kit will also provide families with children with essential messages focused on hygiene during flood recovery, safe feeding of infants and young children, good parenting, and wellness.
UNICEF relief kits have arrived at the Coordination Center of Children and Women Coordination Center, a unit within the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Center (SBPAC), and are now being distributed to flood-affected areas.
These kits include essential items for children, such as diapers, blankets, and hygiene supplies like soap, toothpaste, and mosquito repellent.
